Looking at the world.
- Maps show the Earth as flat.
- Globes show the Earth as it is, as a sphere.
- We use imaginary lines on a map to help us locate places on the Earth´s surface.
1. Lines of longitude go vertically around the Earth.
- The Greenwich Meridian divides the Earth into the Eastern and Western Hemispheres.

- The Equator divides the Earth into the Northern and the Southern hemispheres.
